Would you like to store information about your supplies for sewing? What is important? Please let us know! :)

Hello and thanks for the comment!
Do they have to be extensively categorized? :)

Just in case, here's what I've been planning so far (by notions type):

- buttons (quantity, size (cm or in), material (e.g. wooden), color)
- snaps (quantity, size (cm), color, type (riveted or sew-on)
- pins (quantity, color, type (safety pin, straight pin))
- marking pen (quantity, brand, color)
- seam ripper
- seam guide
- cutting mat
- rotary cutter
- scissors (size (cm), type (pinking shears, straight))
- machine needles (brand, number (90-150), single/double)
- machine foot (brand, type (universal, zipper, buttonhole, blind hem etc))

Does it sound okay, or am I missing something? :)

Tracking notions is not essential for me, but it would be nice to have.
I think you have started a pretty comprehensive list. I would definitely add a few things:
Different types and lengths and colors of zippers.
Rotary cutter replacement wheels in the various sizes.
Marking pens/chalks/pencils- I would add a place for people to enter a note about the proper method of removal. I'm constantly losing track of this myself.
Stabilizing and fusible-type tapes? Stay tapes, etc...
Another poster mentioned thread, and I think this is a good idea, too.

Again, thanks for asking!!

Thanks for the adds-on!

So that would be marking... tool? with type pen/chalk/pencil?
For thread that would be elasticity, fiber, weight, brand?

While reading your list I remembered bias tapes and pipings.... and shoulder pads :)

Good catch on bias tapes, pipings, and shoulder pads.
I don't know whether interfacings belong in notions or in fabrics, but I thought I'd mention it.

I think marking tool with type pen/chalk/pencil/transfer paper would cover it.
For thread, I'd suggest adding "type". I'm thinking machine embroidery, machine quilting, all purpose, top-stitching, etc.

Ribbons, elastics, bias tape makers, pins or clips, tracing notions would all be great.
