Sewist Pattern Library Database Requirements
Sewist is intended to be a comprehensive, unbiased, accurate database of sewing patterns, quilting patterns and other patterns that are/were available to the public for use in others' projects.
Submitted patterns are checked and moderated by Sewist employees. Entries in the pattern database that do not meet the requirements will be processed by us or returned to draft status and suggested to be further processed by you.
- A sewing pattern database entry is not a project. When listing a sewing pattern, make sure it includes complete information on sizes, fabrics, terms, etc. Don't just list what you have chosen to sew.
- A sewing pattern database entry is not a listing for sale. Do not use it to sell used sewing patterns from other companies. You can list your own sewing patterns in the database and possibly offer them for sale. Used paper sewing patterns may be sold through your library listings.
- A sewing pattern database entry is not a master class. Feel free to discuss techniques and ideas in groups and forums, or post a video in the Classes section.
- Duplicate entries. If the same pattern is published in multiple languages or sources, this information should be included in the same pattern listing.
- Entries posted by network members for other companies/designers that contain proprietary information such as for example: scanned copies of pattern pages, uploaded graphic files, etc.
- Designs that otherwise infringe copyright, including reproduction of trademarks, logos, licensed characters, etc.
- Pattern listings that contain excessive marketing and promotional information, including title and description.
If your sewing pattern entry is infringing copyright or is spam, it will be deleted.
