Notes Having made a cover for my machine, I've immediately made another one!  It was very useful to have the first one to use for working out dimensions.  The 'squares' cover is a bit baggy, and therefore goes over the machine without having to unplug it - which I like as I tend to leave my machine out.  But I thought a more fitted cover would look smart, so this time I switched to a long gusset and a shaped front and back.  I used an old cream linen shirt of Philip's and some more of the fabric Susie gave me, and quilted straight lines horizontally across the pieced front and the plain back.  The gusset is pieced in 3" stripes, the lining is slightly patterned white cotton, and the wadding was 80/20 cotton/poly.  I used half inch seams, and top-stitched around the bottom edge after sewing the lining to the cover rs tog and turned through a gap in the lining seam.
Don't know why I've made another, except for the pleasure of working it all out.  This one looks well-fitted, but, of course, it doesn't fit over the power cable!
Update: took 0.75" off the bottom to stop it sagging - so original pieces should have been cut at 12.25" for half inch seams.  Much better not too tall.
