| Notas | Deep stash diving for this project. Some stretch denim from so long ago I have no memory of buying it. Some medium weight cotton I bought from a local kids clothing shop that was closing down. A zipper rescued from an op shop bought cardigan. Mods: I added a welt pocket to the front where the flap is in the pattern. The daughter must have a pocket! It was going to have a flap as well, but in the end we liked it better without. I fully lined the front flap with the contrast fabric, just for the hell of it. No buttons on the shoulder. I'm not fond of pointless buttons. I really enjoyed sewing this dress, despite making some pretty silly mistakes through tiredness. The dart details are just lovely. It fits my daughter very well indeed, makes me very happy! My only quibble is that I would not describe that neckline as a 'boat neck'. |
