I love sewing just about anything I'm always wanting to try something new and improve my skills.  As well as making clothes for myself i love making toys and bags, currently hand sewing a rag doll for a friend's soon to be born grand daughter.  Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hello,

My name is Shauntae and I currently live in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. I am originally from Northern California but move around as a military spouse. I own 4 machines. My Juki 2010q is a mostly metal straight stitch machine that I use for piecing and machine quilting. The Juki F600 is a former top of the line domestic sewing machine (now replaced by the HZL-DX7). I have a Brother serger, the 1040D and a Brother NQ1400E embroidery-only machine. Despite this, I will never get into selling my work. I don't like the pricing aspect of it all and I don't like to rush my sewing. I plan on joining the military myself after I finish my Master's degree, which is in the next 12 weeks!

What an interesting collection of machines you have. I look forward to seeing the pieces you make with them.
Good luck with finishing your Masters degree. May I ask what subject you chose?
Best wishes,

Hi I'm Jeanie from Hamilton, New Zealand, a beginner at sewing, knitting, crochet and weaving. I studied fashion design for a year in 2016. Have been in retail industry for a couple of years for work and is from a science/engineering background. Currently I'm making a loopy scarf and knitting another scarf using light reflective yarn. I use a Juki DDL-8700 industrial machine at school, a Brother GS2700 and a Janome Ezy Lock 304 serger at home. Still developing skills on how to get the tension right on my machines! Also have a bad habit of starting many projects and pausing. Looking forward to sharing my craft journey on Sewist.

Hello,
I am Rita from Germany. Up to now I used MSC (mysewingcircle.com) to track my sewing projects. The founders of this site seem to be  the same as the current owner of MSC.  I start transfering my projects to sewist.com now as I have the feeling that nothing is improving on MSC.

Lots of love Rita.

Dear Rita,

Indeed, it is difficult to support both websites and we shall eventually transfer all the functionality here at Sewist. I hope you enjoy using www.Sewist.com!

Sincerely,
Natalia

Hi my name is Dale and i am new here, i have had to give up work due to a back problem. I sewed when i was younger and have sewn bits for my grand children recently but i would love to be able to design some pattern for myself and my grandchildren. I just wanted to say that you have a great deal with your friend, it is a win win situation. You get to sew, she gets clothes for her children and you get some for your daughter also.

Hello Natalia,
I was interested in your response to Rita since I am in exactly the same position. Would you suggest it is advisable to transfer all MSC projects on to this site? When is it likely that all functionality will transfer to Sewist.com?
Best wishes,
Mandy

Dear Mandy,

In 2018 we shall concentrate our work at sewist.com, so it is better to transfer the projects here. We are finishing the last adds-on to our Online Pattern Designer, and we shall add functionality from MSC, whichever is left, to Sewist.com in 2018.

If there are some particular features you are interested in, please do let us know and we shall implement them sooner.

Kind regards,
Natalia

Thanks Natalia. Could I ask if you would keep me (and anyone else interested in this) about when MSC will no longer function?
I am currently working to get all the information about my projects (119 of them) onto this site and am quickly realising that this will take me some time.
Best wishes,
Mandy

Hello Mandy,

MSC will stay live for the time being, we are not planning to shut it down in the near future, it is just that we are concentrating on our Online Pattern Designer for the moment and 3D visualisation.

I shall talk to the IT if they can probably come out with an import/export instrument from MSC to Sewist :)

I feel sure they have rather more to work on at the moment than a transfer tool from MSC to Sewist, but thanks for the thought.
It is a relief to know that the shut down is not imminent, though.
Mandy

Sorry about the deleted posts 38-41. For some strange reason, when I posted comment 37, it got duplicated. Very odd.

Hi my name is Ron from Billings Montana. I just bought a Dressmaker Model 6800 Heavy Duty. My problem is that I have no manual or instructions on how to operate it. I bought it to sew patches on my pants as I am a welder. If anyone has the manual I am willing to pay for the cost of copying it and sending it to me. Please help I am a newbie at sewing but like to learn new things. Thank you for your time in this matter.
