Patterns and Instructions
making changes to sizes
Is there a way to take an already created pattern, which has my custom saved size applied to it and modify some of the measurements within the saved size file? My problem is that the custom saved size I created is still too big in the upper chest area and I've tried modifying my custom saved size file, but it doesn't appear to be updating the changes--it's as if the ...

Saving fabric estimator layouts
I have to just say a massive thank you to all the work you've put in creating the fabric estimator. You've made me realise how much fabric I could save! I wondered if there is already, or if you would consider adding a feature whereby it would be possible to save the generated layout as a true-to-scale pdf that I could then project onto my fabric to assist with where ...

Confused with Design #109767
I'm trying to make a 3 tiered gathered skirt. The instructions are telling me to gather the top edge of the bottom tier to 25' in length and then attach it to the middle tier but the middle tier is 50" in length because the pattern instructs you to cut this on a center fold. I cannot attach a 25" long piece to a 50" long piece without doubling up on the gathering which ...

Pattern made for my size is double as wide as me
So I made an account, put in my measurements, happy to finally get patterns made for my body-form. I bought a pattern for a blouse with my size and... it's just twice as wide as me when cut out?? What the hell happened? Did I do something wrong or....?

Where are you from?
Hello, my name is Andrew and I'm from St Albans, Australia. Where I reside, there are only about 3 - 5 sewing supply stores. However, I enjoy thrifting in secondhand stores to get scraps for beginner craft projects. It's lot less expensive than buying new, and it gets you thinking about ways to improve.

Can somebody give me a review of the MX231 sewing machine? I'm planning to get one, but I need some information beforehand.

Any tips for denim topstitching?
I understand how aggravating it can be. The same thing happened to me.I hate to say it, but some of the newer machines aren't very good at top-stitching.After purchasing the Singer Heavy-Duty 4452, I was able to achieve the best results. I only use it for projects involving denim and leather. Buying a new machine should not be the solution, but it was for me.In ...

Sewing Techniques
What is your least favorite technique?
Putting interfacing together. Surely the most tedious task ever, but perfect for a facial with all that steam swirling around your face. It's especially tedious when you have to do large coat or jacket panels that seem to take forever.
