Voorbeeld tekst (107) SLEEVE WITH BOW CUFF - Slash slit on sleeve along the marked line. Cut bias tape from main fabric (or take ready), its width should equal 4 cm and length should equal two lengths of slit + 4 cm. Fold bias tape in half lengthwise and press. Press outer seam allowances towards center. Sew bias tape to slit of sleeve (pin bias tape to slit edge from the right side and sew, fold bias tape onto wrong side and topstitch onto garment along fold line). - Fold cuff in half lengthwise right sides together and sew from marking to fold on one side, and then from the marking to fold on the other side. Trim corners, clip into seam allowances near the marking. Fold the cuff right side out, straighten and press. - Sew the sleeve seam. - Sew a gathering stitch along the lower edge of the sleeve and gather to the length mentioned on the pattern block. - Sew the outer side of the cuff to the lower edge of the sleeve. Fold under the inner edge of the cuff and stitch in the ditch from the right side.

(108) SLEEVE PLEATS Make and baste pleats as per the technical drawing: - Make the pleat on the back part of the sleeve, fold bulk towards the back edge of the sleeve seam. -Baste the pleat along the fold line and along the lower edge of the sleeve.(See Figure 1 on the right) - Make the pleat on the front part of the sleeve, fold bulk towards the front edge of the sleeve seam. -Baste the pleat along the fold line and along the lower edge of the sleeve. - The fold of the front sleeve pleat should be ON TOP of the back pleat. (See Figure 2 on the right)

(110) PLEATS ON THE FRONT - Neaten the inner edge of the pleat area, using a narrow zigzag stitch. - Start making pleats from the upper left pleat (see Figure 1). Fold fabric right sides together, then wrong sides together, so that the raw edges of the base of the pleat are visible on the right side of the fabric, and the bulk of the pleat is directed towards bottom. Baste the pleat along the fold lines, so that the layers of fabric do not shift. Topstitch the base of the pleat along the raw edges. - Repeat for the upper right pleat (see Figure 2). Slipstitch the base of the previous pleat to the inner side of the pleat. - Repeat for the middle left pleat (see Figure 3). Slipstitch the base of the previous pleat to the inner side of the pleat. - Repeat for the middle right pleat (see Figure 4). Slipstitch the base of the previous pleat to the inner side of the pleat. - Repeat for the lower left pleat (see Figure 5). Baste the base of the pleat in place, so that the layers of fabrics do not shift. - Sew the opening between the lower pleats, marked in Figure 5. You may either slipstitch it, or pin the edges right sides together, and sew from the wrong side. - Make the lower left pleat (see Figure 6). Baste the base the pleat along the waist line, so that the layers of fabric do not shift.
