Notes 31st August: This poor skirt has been languishing at the bottom of my "to do" pile for months. Since it has already been cut and is ready to sew, there is little excuse for its having been left for so long. I am making this from two pieces of light wool tweed from my stash. The fabric pieces have been joined to make a single length long enough to make something worthwhile out of it.The pattern I am using is from Sew Hip! issue 2, January 2009, "Vintage Remake".1st September: I have decided to add a proper lining to this skirt since I don't think this wool will hang very well without one. The original pattern has no lining and overlocks the edges - not a look I like very much.7th September: Skirt completed with full lining. All fabrics and zip from my stash. Apologies about the poor photograph, I shall have to see if my husband can take one of me wearing the skirt another time. The second photo shows the lining being handsewn in place around the zip.
