| Notes | I used the online designer for the initial pattern and made a muslin. Fitted it twice with the muslin before making it with the actual dress fabric. I made a second pattern with online designer for the the lace over lay. I make a mock up of that in tulle which I fitted twice before cutting the lace. She and I were both very happy with the outcome. Inside the dress is an attached corset that laced up the back. There are multiple layers of lining an underlining as well I made a separate crinoline for the fit and flare look. I also made a cathedral length veil which I improvised. I appliqué lace motifs on it from the dress over lay. I opted to go with a shorter train to allow the veil to be the main focus in the back. Many many hours went into hand sewing the lace in place. I took a break from sewing for a while once the wedding was over. |
