Hi- I just added my first pattern to the database. It's 109 Magic Pencil Skirt. I couldn't figure out where to put the pattern company name (Pamela's Patterns) to have it appear as the others in the database do, like Lekala does with a link to the website. I'm guessing that the link may appear later once you approach Pamela's Patterns and get their consent, or something along those lines. I just want to make sure I did everything correctly. If I am missing something on the data entry, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi,

The best way is to add the website to the pattern, you would need to choose Website in the tab "Published In" and enter the name of the website and the link to it's home page. In the future you can start typing the website-s name or link and the system will suggest variants for adding to the pattern.

Hope this helps!

We have made uploading patterns easier.

Some of the things we fixed:

all selected info is now saved throughout the process, even when there's a mistake
deleting fabrics
added several new categories and tags

Hi! I'd like to record my Big 4 pattern stash on this site. How do I add patterns like this:
McCall's 7020
I checked to see if it existed, and when it didn't I tried to add it, but it doesn't seem to offer the proper category for a company like McCalls. Which one do I check, website?
Thanks and sorry if this is an absurd question!

ETA: Well, I added it. I don't think I did it correctly as I had no option of leaving sizing blank, or copying the sizing info from the site. It seems that right now, this format isn't totally friendly to the Big 4 way of grouping sizes into different bundles.
Also was forced to change fabric needed to "1" rather than leaving that blank or at zero. It would be nice to be able to enter a minimum value rather than filling in one value. I feel like this makes more sense for multi-size patterns since the amount of fabric needed will obviously vary.
Please let me know if I added it correctly. Thank you!

When I added a pattern yesterday, I added the magazine it is taken from accidentally two times. And the worst part, there is still a mistake: The Unofficial Downton Abbey Sews is not a special issue from Piecework, but from Stitch Magazine.... Is there any way to change this without adding it a third time? And how can I delete the wrong entries of the magazines?

And another question: Is there any way to upload a picture for the patterns? I've seen in the database patterns with picture and tried to figure out how they were added, but couldn't. Thanks for your help!

Hello, which pattern would that be? :) I looked up the database, and can see both entries for Piecework and Stitch Magazine, I just wanted to make sure I don't delete an issue where a pattern is listed already. Just let me know the pattern name and I'll fix it for you, no problem! :)

Well, it's all about the copyright. We do have authorisation from some of the companies to use the envelope pictures, but unfortunately not all of them yet. What we were planning to do, is let users add library pictures (e.g. if you want to offer this pattern for swap or sale, etc), and then show these pictures on the pattern page as well. I know that's a long way around, but at least a safe one...

It's not the pattern that's wrong, but I entered one Magazine (The Unofficial Downton Abbey Sews) accidentally
three times into the database and hope you can delete the two wrong
entries.

The Stitch Magazine entry is the right one. The other two (the one were I entered the Downton Abbey Sews as independent Magazine and the one were I attributed it wrongly to Piecework) can be deleted.

Sorry for the trouble!

Okay, I just hope I got it right :)

So I deleted the Downtown Abbey Sews as independent entry AND this

The only entry that remained is this one http://www.sewist.com/magazines/issue/145

Hope it's all right :)
