Made a muslin last week and now I am ready to cut out the real deal.
I will make my jacket slightly longer than the muslin.
Jacket will be made in two colours, Royal blue and purple as I don't have enough of either to do the whole thing in one colour. Princess seams are great for colour-blocking,the panels make it so simple.
17th Aug: ALMOST finished! It just needs button/holes and hemming.
18th Aug: Finished and I LOVE it.
I made successful buttonholes for the first time and learned how,when and why to understitch plus I also made thread belt carriers that I have never done before and used my blind hem foot. I am "sew" happy with the result!
Wore it to visit my husband in the hospital today and he was very complimentary.
I added 3" to the length and turned 1" up for the hem. |
