Notes |
Made of sequins on lycra spandex. Lined with stretch knits for comfort and shape. Built in bra. Hand sewn with a double-threaded backstitch, side zipper, and machine stretch-stitch sewn stretch fabric lining. The large zig-zag patterns match all around, on the sleeves, and are book-matched in the front. The lining was sewn on at the bodice and neckline and then turned like a facing would be sewn on and turned. The lining and the fashion fabric were hemmed separately.
I created the pattern using the wearer's measurements and design wishes. A "muslin" was made out of stretch fabric and alterred to fit during a first fitting. The muslin was taken apart; pattern modifications were made from these pieces. The final pattern was transferred onto stiff, translucent organdy which enabled me to see the sequined fabric's pattern; place and match the pattern pieces on the design before cutting it out.
