| Notes | This is the fanciest dress I've ever made. I found the chocolate silk taffetta on sale eight years ago and only this year have I gotten confident enough in my sewing skills to cut it out and get started. It has gone surprisingly quickly and is nearly finished. I wore it to an event where I made note of three things which I need to fix:
the dress needs to be decorated a lot more
I need to devise a way to pin up the train
I need to fix the cartridge pleats on the skirt
Then I can add the sleeves. The part of the sleeves which go over my forearm will be made from vintage mink which I have salvaged from an old coat. The dress is sewn. I worked with a jewelry designer on Etsy to create the hook to pin up the train. I haven't added any decoration yet, I figure I'll do that once the dress is complete. The coat for the sleeves has been cut and I've begun sewing the fur together. One sleeve is ready to attach, the other will be ready before long. It is turning out GORGEOUS |
