Saw a great little wonky star mini quilt that I thought would be the perfect way to start using some of my abundance of Christmas fabric! Of course, life and kitties intervened, so I definitely won't finish it by Christmas, but it has been so much fun to see the little stars come together. I'm using six different holiday fabrics, and pairing them for each star. My plan is to have 30 stars, set on point, and each star will be 2.5" or 3" square (I can't decide!). All are backed on Kona white.
1/17: All of the squares are done and ended up at 3", or 2.5" when all sewn together. I ended up with a 5x5 grid, and kept the remaining five stars to log cabin coasters out of or something like that. Backed in the santa fabric seen in a couple squares, and quilted with a crosshatch through the corners. Still debating on a binding fabric, either a deep Kona red or maybe the light blue snowflake fabric, or the gold chevron, or...
