The design idea comes from an article in "Love Sewing" issue 28. Called "Pastel Quilt" it is a nice simple design which seemed perfect to get me back into quilting again. Not entirely certain just how big my own quilt will become. I'll have to measure up my granddaughter's cotbed.

The colours of the block is most accurate on the photo showing the many bits and pieces sewn so far. The block itself has come out rather yellowy.

25th July - I have now started quilting, so have added a photo showing the borders which have been added to this quilt top. Now layered, the backing is a plain calico.

8th August - quilt completed and handed over. Daughter Liz spent some time stroking it, enjoying the texture. So happy she likes it. She thinks Bryony will love it when she is older.

The newest photos show the full quilt, details of the stitching from the front and also the back, and also the cushion made to accompany the quilt.

Oh yes, I did remember to label it. One of the photos shows a little bit of the handwritten label. Since this was for a baby, the quilt and also the cushion were washed before being handed over.
