Notes 12th August: Started putting all the pieces together today. I had kept all the useful scraps from Rosie's quilt together in a bag which made this bit rather easy. Poor girl, Rosie doesn't know she is getting a bag as well as a quilt.13th August: Finished piecing the top and also the backing yesterday. The backing is constructed from fabric left over from making a lovely dress some years back - lovely busy design with calligraphy sections. The rest is fabric in the same tonal range left over from the Hearts and flowers hug.It was a good days work yesterday since I managed to get the quilt sandwich done and basted too. Both the handles are ready for stitching too - fabric folded over a piece of wadding to make them soft.  Chatted to Rosie too, so she knows about the bag. Will start the quilting today.15th August: Got quite a lot of quilting done so far. I have just got another ten rectangular areas to complete. That means I have probably manged to quilt over three quarters of the bag to date. Hoping to get some more done this evening.18th August: The bag is now finished. The finishing touches were completed this morning. I shall be taking the bag and the quilt along to the Hartford Quilters meeting this evening. The last photos show the finished bag with the quilt inside it. The handles can tuck inside so the the whole thing could be used as a pillow if required. I have also shown the handwritten label.
