| Notes | This will be made as part of the sew-a-long for the sew-a-long group here on My Sewing Circle.9th June: I've printed out the pattern ready to cut out the pieces. So will get that done later today.11th June: Didn't get the cutting up done until this morning. Decided only to use two fabrics rather than the three of the pattern.12th June: I'm having a lot of fun working through this pattern. It is really well written with very clear photos. So far the bag and the pockets are complete. The flannel piece is filled with rice and waiting to be put into place. I am about to sew the pocket section to the pincushion bottom.The flannel I have used is a patterned piece, but it won't show when it inside the pincushion since I have used upholstery weight fabric.13th June: Made rather a blunder last night - added the pocket section to the edge rather than the centre seam. Will have to alter that since it makes the whole thing rather too long. Also the weight is still a little light. I shall have to add some more rice. Used waste wadding since I had run out of stuffing. Seems to work just fine.Corrected it all quite easily during the afternoon and completed stitching the underside of the pincushion this evening. This will get a lot of use. |
