Notes 3rd December: Sorry, no photos until this arrives. The package will be posted in the morning. (It should have been finished and posted a week ago!)12th December: These have finally arrived. Poor mroughtb has been waiting such a long time because of the dreadful weather in her area.A quick explanation:The four hanging decorations are made from thick vilene - the type used for making pelmets. The design comes from some simple paper cuts which I made, and later used as templates. The vilene was painted before being layered between sheer voile which had a sheen to it. The shapes were then satin stitched to secure and give rigidity. After this, bits and pieces were added to decorate them and make the hanging loops. Each of the hangings is between 9 and a half and 12 inches long. The heart being the smallest of the shapes. The reversible bag is roughly 12 inches tall and is a misunderstanding of the pattern which appeared in the latest copy of "Selvedge". When I originally made it I had intended to make it as the magazine - a bag with two "ears" to tie. However, having made the error of cutting a handle instead of two "ears", I preferred the mistake and so the bag was born. One side is "the twelve days of Christmas" and the other is a bright upholstery fabric. The use of two weights of fabric, as suggested by the pattern, really helps the bag to stand up.
