Just started a jacket for my girl. You can't find any without hood to buy, but I don't like the hood for car seat etc. So i have to sew it :D Will use my batik sweatsirt with and without stars :) Project is created, pictures will follow soon.

How fun! Would you like to share? I have been sewing mostly woolen onesies for my daughter lately. They are great this time of year. But looking forward to getting started on her summer wardrobe as well.

It is a german book, "Kinderleicht- Nähen mit Jersey" from Pauline Dohmann, you can find it linked to my projects (babyanzug, Raglan- hoodie). Pauline publishes under her label "Klimperklein"many wonderful ebooks, too :)

Thank you for the tips! I have to check that out! There are so many patterns available in german. Should have paid more attention in school so that I could understand the language better. I guess google translate has to to the trick :)

Thanks so much for this comment, Nightlady. I really am tempted to get some of these e-books to sew for my daughter who is expecting her first child in June. Such practical items of clothing.

It is from the book "Nähen mit Jersey - Kinderleicht" from Pauline Dohmen/Klimperklein. Unfortunately the book is German and did not have progress pictures like her ebooks but I think I could help you with any  translation Problem ;)

Been busily making trousers for my daughter's baby. Took my serger (overlocker), and plenty of interlock cotton jersey along when we stayed with her for a few days. In the end I'd made seven pairs of trousers, four bibs and two of the long sleeved Onesies.

I must admit to having done some alterations to the patterns since my granddaughter is a sturdy baby who wears cotton nappies. I adjusted the trousers pattern by making the legs around an inch longer and adding a couple of inches to the crotch to waist, shaping the back so that it was higher than the front. The original pattern had the back and front exactly the same. The bibs were my own design based on a bib which my daughter really liked. They look like miniature bandanas, double sided with a velcro fastening. The Onsies needed lengthening in the body to fit, but this was an easy alteration. The first one I made was far too small so is now being used by the baby of a close friend.

The pattern used is "Maxaloones" from Max and Meena. The pattern is available through Craftsy. (Craftsy.com)
