Hello,
I am having problems adding a photo of my project. This is a quilt which I have designed myself - or rather, am in the process of designing as I go along.
Each time I attempt to add a photo, I get the following message:

"Error! Error (1): can not upload file"

I am clearly getting something wrong.

Also, am I allowed to add a photo of a pattern which is not in your database? Reading through your copyright rules, I feel sure that to do this I would probably be breeching copyright. Both patterns I am currently using are out of print.
(Hot Patterns HP1052 and Style 3965 from 1983).

Hello Mandy,

As for the file, there are two possible reasons:

1) We've just updated some of the code which might cause a form in process to fail
2) The file might be too big or a wrong format. Would you mind e-mailing it to me at info@sewist.com?

As for the picture, basically, uploading a picture is a breech of copyright. However - I am now consulting re this - I get it that you may upload a photo of a printed book/magazine/booklet, because this is how you can swap or sell it and demonstrate the current condition of a book. So probably we shall enable adding pictures to your library of patterns (printed ones) and make them visible in the slideshow.

As for Hot Patterns, we have a permission from them to use photos, I'll just e-mail them and check if we can add the out-of-print patterns to the database as well.

Hey!

Also, I discovered the photo limit is 2mb for the size. It's not listed anywhere but once I made sure my photos were under that size they started uploading just fine!

You don't need to increase it - just add a note about it at the upload-page :D

"Your photo has been successfully uploaded and automatically submitted for weekly contest. If you do not wish this photo to take part in weekly contest, please click here."

There's nothing to click on! I don't mind in this case, but this probably isn't how you want it :)
A link to an explanation of contests would be useful here too.
