Adding seam allowances to your sewing pattern

You may order a sewing pattern with or without seam allowances. The width of the seam allowances cannot be changed and are preset in the system. They are 3/8 inches by default, with 5/8 inches along shoulders, side seams and center back seams, and 1 inch along hem.

Printing out sewing patterns at home or at a printshop

We currently offer 19 printing formats in PDF, plus the DXF format. Every order will also contain an SVG file that can be imported into the software of your preference.

PRO mode allows preview of the pattern in various sizes, control the layout of pattern blocks on paper, estimate yardage, download spec sheets, etc. You first need to purchase Sewcoins to use the PRO mode.

You can calculate fabric length online for a standard size or for your personal size measurements. We have a special online interactive tool that helps you calculate fabric length for different widths. You don't have to make a paid order, a free preview of a sewing pattern is enough.

How to download sewing patterns online at Sewist.com

Registered users may download the sewing patterns in "My orders" section. If you placed an order as a guest, you may download your sewing pattern using a temporary download link (the order number and your email are required).
